Weather Forecasting For Environmental Related Projects

Washington State Stormwater Forecast
Brown and Caldwell, Washington

Frankly, I find those free forecasts very vague and quite often not accurate. That is why we choose your service. Your accuracy is second to none. Accurate forecasts were critical to us since if we had bad weather data we would have wasted thousands of dollars in running our stormwater tests. Thus, you saved us thousands.

I wanted to take the time to thank you for the weather forecasts that you provided to us during the winter of 2004-05. As you know our firm needed forecasts for major rain events for the stormwater tests that we were doing in the Puget Sound region. This was certainly a challenge since the 2004-05 winter ended up being a drought season. However, you gave us advance notice of the only two major rain events that we had for the 2004-05 season. Not only was the notice accurate but your forecast rain amounts was precise.

There was much discussion among the participants of our group if we should pay for weather forecast services. Between the internet and all the local television forecasts there are countless free forecasts out there.

I also want to mention that we appreciate your accurate forecasts that supported our projects in these cities: Omaha, Cleveland, and Hartford

Again, on behalf of Brown and Caldwell we appreciate your forecasts as this information proved to be valuable on the Metro stormwater project that we worked on.

Sincerely,
Henryk Melcer

I wanted compliment your firm on your excellent custom forecasts that you provided me during the winter of 2006-2007 in the Seattle area. For the excavation work that I was doing on this construction site I needed to know 15 days in advance of when it was going to be dry for 3 days. I thought I was asking for the impossible especially last winter when it seemed that we broke every possible rainfall record.

I had to wait and wait given the almost constant rain that we had but sure enough you gave me the 15 day forecast of a dry seam of weather. With that information in hand I was able to mobilize the excavation plan in dry weather which by my conservative estimates saved me 1000’s of dollars. I know of some other construction firms that had to do the exaction work in the rainy weather it that was a very slow process and a very expensive proposition for them.

Thanks again for your help and with all the free and mostly inaccurate weather forecasts out there on the internet and television it is great to know that I can get a professionally prepared custom forecast for the construction sites that I work on. I will continue to recommend your weather services to other construction related firms.

Sincerely,
Todd Hymel

You have earned the respect and confidence of the high level officials responsible for calling burn bans with your outstanding weather analysis and forecasting.

Dear Mr. Fagin

On behalf of the Northwest Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association (NWHPBA) and the Independent Business Association, want to thank you for your outstanding weather analysis and forecasting.

Accurate weather analysis and forecasts are critical for the Northwest Hearth Patio and Barbecue Association, the Washington State Department of Ecology, and the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency in calling burn bans. Burn bans are a front line defense in stopping the buildup of high levels of smoke that cause unhealthy air quality and can result in federal sanctions against state and local regulators as well as citizens in high air-quality problem areas like Tacoma and Pierce County

The NWHPBA is extremely pleased with your weather analysis and forecasting to advise regulators when it is appropriate to call a burn ban in air quality problem areas like Tacoma. The regulators need several days of advance warning about when poor air quality might occur in order to call burn bans at the correct time to avoid poor air quality events. You have been outstanding with your advance forecasts in this regard. You have earned the respect and confidence of the high level officials responsible for calling burn bans with your outstanding weather analysis and forecasting. Prior to your engagement by the NWHPBA, officials calling burn bans were often late in calling burn bans or failed to call them when needed. This resulted in an excessive number of poor air quality days in these problem areas. Since your engagement, you have developed an outstanding rapport and a high level of respect with these top government officials and their subordinates and are recognized as an extremely valuable resource in the programs they manage.

Thank you and we confidently recommend your to firm to businesses and government agencies who need accurate weather forecasting, analysis, or forensic services.

Sincerely
Gary Smith

I wanted to take the time to thank you and your team at West Coast Weather for your forensic meteorologist research and associate technical report that you provided to my firm.

As you know, our firm was representing a client in a federal environmental permitting matter and we were working on calculating the evaporation transpiration rate. We gave you the technical information from our engineering firm, details from the government agency, and what the concerns of the parties were. Your firm was able to take this data and write a comprehensive report that we were able to use in our permitting submittals.

This report helped us confirm important information to the federal permitting agency. In closing, next time one of my clients needs a forensic meteorologist; I will not hesitate to call your firm. I would recommend your firm to anyone need a forensic meteorologist or someone needs an expert meteorologist for any legal proceeding.

Mountain forecasting for expeditions

Not only was I impressed with these forecasts but also our climbing Sherpas’ found your forecasts very valuable and that was the first time they liked an “outsider’s” forecasts.

Dear Michael;
I wanted to thank you for the forecasts that you provided to my climbing group this past October and November 2003. I have been climbing in the Himalayas since 1987 and have been on the summit of Everest four times so certainly I have seen a lot of weather forecasts. Our expedition took place in a somewhat ‘uncharted’ season on Everest, the post-monsoon. The weather during the autumn is significantly less observed than in the spring. Your forecasts were excellent and that is not an easy task when forecasting from October 1 till November 1. Not only was I impressed with these forecasts but also our climbing Sherpas’ found your forecasts very valuable and that was the first time they liked an “outsider’s” forecasts.

Furthermore, the format was concise and easy to read. What I really appreciated was the fact that you were available to talk to me one on one by satellite telephone. The sunspot activity this fall made it difficult getting data transmission (email) at Base Camp, thus being able to have our weather briefings on the phone with you was very critical. Our plans are to return to Mt. Everest in the fall of 2004 for another summit bid. So please reserve us on your forecast calendar.

Sincerely,
Wally Berg

Your forecasts were extremely accurate (Denali)and greatly assisted in the successful summits of 3 of our members. We also liked you medium range forecast which the National Weather Service (NWS) did not provide. Finally just before our summit bid the NWS did not even provide us with a short term forecasts since there was a shift change in their office. We were glad to have your forecasts!!

We were successful on the first ascent of Hispar Sar (ca. 6,000 meters) in the Karakorum Mountains of Pakistan, due in no small part to your accurate forecasts.

Now that we are home, I wanted to thank you for the great weather forecasts this summer (2011). We were successful on the first ascent of Hispar Sar (ca. 6,000 meters) in the Karakorum Mountains of Pakistan, due in no small part to your accurate forecasts. We needed a 72 hour weather window to pull this climb off, and you forecasted it perfectly. I will recommend your services to anyone heading over to the Karakorum or Himalayan mountains. Success in alpine climbing has a lot to do with timing. Failed attempts eat up energy and resources. Having you give us custom weather forecasts at crucial times helped us make good decisions, which ultimately led to a successful ascent.
